Welcome to Tea with Evening Shire. We thought it would be nice to share some tea together.

Today we are drinking Teabox’s Darjeeling Summer Oolong.

“Morning is the best of all times in the garden.  The sun is not yet hot.  Sweet vapors rise from the earth.  Night dew clings to the soil and makes plants glisten.  Birds call to one another.  Bees are already at work.” –  William Longgood
Color of the Darjeeling Summer Oolong tea
The light is beautiful this morning  I was looking forward to trying this tea all weekend. Teabox says the aroma is Orange blossom and hints of distant jasmine flower which is my favorite kind of tea. What a way to enjoy a end of summer tea.

My mom found this tea to be  much more to her liking. She generally puts 3 short squirts of honey in her tea. This tea is not sweet but she could also have found it palatable with a little less honey. Very smooth taste.
I agree this is a very smooth tea. Full flavored even with my first under brew. The color was beautiful. The color reminds me of summer flowers.
The second cup I had was brewed for the amount of time Teabox suggests for this tea. It was deeper in flavor but unlike the last tea we tried the flavor didn’t change as much as it just got deeper. I loved it. I used no honey. It was not bitter at all and tasted very smooth and pleasing.

I would highly recommend this tea.
I’ve made gluten free blueberry scones with some clotted cream just for this morning. I am not the best baker but these in the end where simpler than I thought they would be. The taste is great. Buttery and moist. Watch for the recipe in the Little Shop at the Corner later today.
