Welcome to Tea with Evening Shire. We thought it would be nice to share some tea together.

Today we are drinking Vahdam’s Blooming Rose Black Tea.

The experience starts with the company’s tag line on the top of the box. “Unbox a New Journey in Tea”

And they mean it. The tea comes vacuum sealed with a zip lock pouch to put the tea in after you open the vacuum package. I was not able to get the contents minus what I used for my tea today all into the zip lock so make sure you store the rest in a safe place.

My first impression is the light beautiful scent of roses. It’s not that overpowering perfumy scent but just a delicate one that brings you into the garden on a summer morning.

This tea does contain tree nuts for anyone who might be allergic. The other ingredients are surprisingly wonderful Black Leaf Tea, Almonds, Pistachio, Cardamon, Rose, and saffron.

I placed the tea into my teapot. This is a loose tea so you will need a tea strainer.

I let it steep for about 5 minutes for my first cup. It was very light which surprised me. My mom felt it was too light for a black tea. She is of course the ultimate black tea drinker. But I found the light taste pleasing to my novice pallet. It was herbal without an overly unnatural taste.

On my second cup which had steeped much longer. The black tea tones began to come out more. It was still pretty light and didn’t overwhelm the floral accents.

My mom found the experience just as pleasing. She mentioned that if you were a black tea drinker you might find this blend a little light. But if you are a novice like me you’ll enjoy this tea very much.
